The Charism & Apostolic activities:

The Congregation has pioneering missionary work as its basic Charism; keeping up the basic characteristic of the Congregation, it has in a span of 105 years has handed over 85 well developed Mission Stations to the respective dioceses.

The Congregation has over 80 Centres in India alone, spread out to four Provinces and a Region and a Province each in Sri Lanka and South America. In order to achieve the Pioneering Evangelisation, the Congregation undertakes various activities such as: Boys' Homes (Orphanages), Schools, Colleges, Technical Schools, Vocational Training Centres, Dispensaries, Hospitals, Rehabilitation Centres, Model Agricultural Farms etc. In all, the activities undertaken by the Brothers, importance is given to Catechetical, Pastoral and Humanitarian works. The Brothers live and work in Communities of three or more and try to be living witnesses of Franciscan Joy and Brotherhood. The relentless works of the Brothers continue with an even greater zeal today as we have completed 100 years of the existence of our Franciscan Missionary Religious Congregation of Brothers.

Our Missionary Congregation is over 100 years old and it has been serving the humanity in various ways to a great deal since its very existence. The contributions of the Congregation of Franciscan Missionary Brothers towards the growth of the Catholic Church in different parts of the world, particularly in India is noteworthy. The hard work and initiatives taken by our Brothers to the remotest areas of our Country to reach out to the poor and needy, to carry the message of Christ has been very well accepted by the Church leaders in India. In view of deepening the Catholic Faith among the Catholic population of the country in a meaningful manner, apart from the direct evangelisation activities, the Brothers run different types of educational as well as training centres, particularly to cater to the needs of Catholics. We contribute our best towards the formation of youth with Christian values and motivate them to impart such knowledge and experience with their fellow-youth.

More than 376 Brothers of our Congregation are fully involved in our various types of apostolates in India and Sri Lanka alone. Most of these Brothers live and work in the interior places where life is really hard and very challenging.
